Nutrition Physiology Company (NPC) was founded in 1993 to develop a proven direct-fed microbial for cattle. Douglas Ware, Ph.D., used his background in research and development to work with the top microbiologists to screen and test hundreds of bacterial strains to find those most effective in cattle. The result was Bovamine®, a unique combination of a lactic-acidproducing bacterium and a lactic-acid-utilizing bacterium that works in both the rumen and the lower gastrointestinal tract. Bovamine works to help convert feed efficiently into meat or milk.

NPC is the leader in microbial technology for use in cattle. Bovamine originally was developed for the feedlot industry, where today more than 4.5 million head receive the product each day.
